A ward at Royal Bolton Hospital has been shortlisted for a prestigious Student Nursing Times Award, in the category of best student placement at a hospital.
D4, the hospital’s female respiratory ward, is one of three areas of the Trust that is involved in the Greater Manchester Synergy project. The project places student nurses into clinical areas across the region, developing their leadership skills, instilling a coaching ethos and increasing the numbers of student nurses across the area.
The judges will be working hard to find the cream of the crop in the student nurse community, and we’re thrilled to have got to this stage in the competitive process. The team will now visit the awards headquarters and present their project with the other shortlisted teams. The winner will be announced at the end of April.
Sam Bulpitt, Education Development Manager at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust said:
“Well done, and thanks to the team for their fantastic work.”
Other areas in the Trust involved in Synergy are orthopaedic ward, G4 and intermediate care facility, Darley Court. Training is underway on both a maternity and a further orthopaedic ward so that they can begin to receive students shortly.
