BME Cancer Focus Group in Bolton

A focus group is being held in Bolton for the black and minority ethnic community to share their experiences of cancer and help shape future services.

The focus group event is open to anyone in the BME community who has been affected by cancer.

It will take place on Wednesday, 13th March 2019, at the Asian Elders Resource Centre, 61 Northfield Street, Bolton Bl3 5JH, 12pm-1.30pm

The event is being held by the Bolton Macmillan Cancer Information & Support Service and The Living with & beyond Cancer team.

Sue Summerfield, Manager of Bolton Cancer Information & Support Service said: “Bolton has an ethnically diverse population, therefore it’s important that we recognise this and ensure everyone has knowledge of what’s available.

“We would like to hear about people’s experiences to develop our cancer services for the BME community in Bolton. We want to know how we can provide the BME community with the best support possible. We also want to know if there are any barriers to accessing the information service and if people know about the Living with & Beyond Cancer project.

“So please come along to our event. Everyone is welcome and no specialist knowledge or experience is needed.”
