Response:

How many occupational therapists were/are employed within your Trust in each of the following years

1) 2013;

2) 2014;

3) 2015;

4) 2016 i) to date ii) budgeted?

I have averaged the head count of the OT’s through the requested periods using January-December with the exception of this year where I have used January-August:

2013 – 74

2014 – 69

2015 – 73

2016 – 81

What was the total amount spent on occupational therapy services within your Trust in each of the following years 1) 2013; 2) 2014; 3) 2015; 4) 2016 to date i) to date ii) budgeted? Within finance we do not hold any separate information on Occupational Therapists. They are all bundled together with the other therapists.
Of these, how many occupational therapists work on acute medical awards? We currently have 3.3 WTE Occupational Therapists who work on the Acute Medical Wards. By this I mean D1, D2, CDU, D3, D4, C3 and C1 wards. There are other OTs who work in the Complex Care and Acute Frailty areas. My team does not have an OT who works directly in A&E but on occasion we would provide this cover if required via a bleep referral system.
Of these, how many occupational therapists do you employ in Accident & Emergency departments?
