Subject:  Medically fit for discharges

 

 

Request:

1 – Number of adult patients who are medically fit to leave hospital but are currently unable to be safely discharged. Most recent figures are preferential however the latest on record would also be of use.

2 – Please provide the number of packages of care that are currently delayed due to lack of staffing resources within the community.

3 – Data on agency spend between March 2016 to present date for nursing services within the community.

 

 

Response:

1 – Number of adult patients who are medically fit to leave hospital but are currently unable to be safely discharged. Most recent figures are preferential however the latest on record would also be of use. Under Section 21 – information already reasonably accessible

2 – Please provide the number of packages of care that are currently delayed due to lack of staffing resources within the community. Is not possible to complete as the requirements of the national submission do not ask for detailed breakdown of the national reasons to a level of staffing, this will be evidenced by the national figures as to the level that delayed discharges are reported.
3 – Data on agency spend between March 2016 to present date for nursing services within the community. The Trust spent £ 341,189.91 during the period 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017 on Agency Nursing (Qualified and Unqualified) within Community settings.
