Subject: Cataract surgery
I am looking into UK ophthalmic anaesthesia practice. In accordance with the right for information under FOI 2000 I would be grateful if you could send some information regarding this.
I do not require patient specific information or any confidential data.
Please can you tell me what proportion of cataract surgery cases are done with local anaesthetic without an anaesthetist allocated.
Thank you for your help with this.
|We have fourteen sessions when there is an anaesthetist present. So in total we do 17 sessions per week three without fourteen with.
However due to the department having two theatres there is always an anaesthetist in the department.
