Subject:        Security seals

Request:

I would like to make a Freedom of Information Request please. I would like to request the following:

  • I would like to know if the trust currently uses any security seals or tamper evident tags, (besides any used for clinical waste) and what each product is used for within the trust.
  • I would also like to know the annual quantity purchased (as well as the annual cost to the Trust if possible)?
  • Where does the trust purchase these products from? i.e. is it direct from a supplier or from the NHS Supply Chain?
  • If these items are purchased through the Supply Chain what are the catalogue codes of each item?
  • Who is responsible for purchasing these products?

Response:

·         I would like to know if the trust currently uses any security seals or tamper evident tags, (besides any used for clinical waste) and what each product is used for within the trust. – We currently only order two types outside of the clinical waste requirement. One is for a Pharmacy application. The other is to seal information bags that are transported by courier between Health Centres that may contain confidential information.
·         I would also like to know the annual quantity purchased (as well as the annual cost to the Trust if possible)? We have ordered 6000 of one type, and 1500 of the other over the last twelve months.
·         Where does the trust purchase these products from? i.e. is it direct from a supplier or from the NHS Supply Chain? The 6000 is from HC Slingslby (code 333545), and the 1500 through Supply Chain.
·         If these items are purchased through the Supply Chain what are the catalogue codes of each item? The code for the above 1500 is WYY207 (3 packs of 500)
·         Who is responsible for purchasing these products? Each department is responsible for its own order. Pharmacy for the 6000, and Bolton One for the 1500.
