If so, what is it called and when did it start? Bolton community intravenous therapy team

 

How many patients have you treated using this service in the last 12 months? Approx. 300 pts per year for iv antibiotics

 

Number of new patient referrals per annum to this service? 300

 

Who can refer to the Outpatient intravenous antibiotic therapy service? Any health trust if patient is a Bolton resident or has a Bolton GP. Bolton GPs directly.
Who administers the intravenous antibiotics once the patients are at home? Qualified nurses from Bolton community iv therapy team

 

Do all patients require a long intravenous line/PICC line (peripherally inserted central catheter)? Treatment via cannula / PICC / Midline / Hickman line.

 

Do you have microbiology input to every patient that is treated using this service? Bolton Consultant microbiologys input with all patients
