  1. How many parking fines have been appealed in the last two years?
  2. How much money has been raised for the hospital in the past two years from parking fines?
  3. How many times has the hospital had to intervened over a parking fine being issued to a patient?
  4. Please provide any notes or reasons provided to the hospital for a parking fine being issued.

Here parking fine can also refer to a penalty charge notice. Please provide figures for 2017 and 2018 broken down into each year.

 

 

Response:

1. How many parking fines have been appealed in the last two years? 484 appeals directly to the Trust. Please note that some users do appeal directly to the solicitor but these are not logged.
2. How much money has been raised for the hospital in the past two years from parking fines? 2016/2017 £20,378
2017/2018 £13,678
3. How many times has the hospital had to intervene over a parking fine being issued to a patient? The Trust has intervened on 18 occasions.
4. Please provide any notes or reasons provided to the hospital for a parking fine being issued. ·         Failing to display a valid ticket or permit

·         Displaying an expired ticket

·         Parking in a no waiting area or outside an authorised parking place

·         Not parking wholly within a marked parking bay

·         Parking causing an obstruction/inconvenience or preventing emergency access/exit

·         Parking in a disabled person’s bay without displaying a valid disabled person’s badge.
