Subject: Angioplasty and Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
Request:
I request the following information:
- A copy of the patient information leaflet (PIL) currently given to patients undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and/or insertion of stent or a link to the leaflet online.
- The numbers of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) carried out in adults (>=18 years of age) in the years April 2018 to March 2019; and April 2017 – March 2018 (or a similar reporting period); these should include: K49.X (Percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty); K75.X (Percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty and insertion of stent); please could you provide figures for each of these two codes.
- The proportion of K49.X and K75.X that were emergency, waiting list, planned and other admission method for the same reporting periods above.
- If available, the proportion of K49.X and K75.X that were carried out for stable angina excluding I21.X and I20.0 for the same reporting periods above.
