Subject: Stop smoking services

- Do you provide an in-house stop smoking service for patients?
- Are all in-patients who smoke able to be referred into this service?
Response:
| We do not provide a smoking cessation service at Bolton FT as this was decommissioned by public health some years ago. We do however ensure that we ask patients on admission their smoking status using a basic screening, offer brief advice, then direct patients to pharmacy advice for stop smoking which is a key component of their path to cessation. This is not a direct referral to a pharmacist, but more of a signposting. We offer training to staff to ensure they know how to do this and this is part of a national CQUIN which we are required to report on nationally. | |
