Under the Freedom of Information Act, could you provide answers to the following:

  1. Does your Infection Prevention and Control team and/or your Microbiology team monitor catheter acquired urinary tract infection (CAUTI) rates independently of the NHS Safety Thermometer information?
  2. What was the total cost to the Trust of CAUTIs in each financial year from 2015/16 to 2019/20?
  3. Is the Trust taking any measures to reduce the harm caused by catheter acquired urinary tract infections (CAUTIs)? If so, please describe these.
  4. Who is responsible and accountable for the implementation of these measures?
  5. How long have the measures been in place and what success has been achieved?
  6. What technological solutions are currently used within the Trust to reduce the incidence of CAUTIs?
  7. If no, are there plans to introduce technological solutions?
  8. If yes, which solutions have been reviewed, tested and implemented?
