Parent and carer groups

We run group parenting programmes for parents and carers.  These programmes tend to be eight to 12 weeks long.  There are usually eight to ten people in each group supported by one or two therapists.  The sessions usually last about an hour. The aim is for parents and carers to support each other, discuss problems and to try out new strategies to help their children and to help themselves cope better.

Each week parents and carers will work on specific things which they will practice between the sessions.

At the moment we have a group for parents and carers for children with ADHD and a group for foster carers.
