Assessment

At your first appointment it may feel like we are asking a lot of questions. We will ask you to complete some questionnaires. These questionnaires will help us to understand your needs better. We call these questionnaire ROMS or Routine Outcome measures and we complete them for a number of reasons.

  1. To find out the best service for you
  2. To measure how you are feeling right now
  3. To make sure that after you have been to CAMHS, that the service you have received has made a difference.

Sometimes we need to carry out further assessments and may ask you to come and meet another member of the CAMHS team, this may include visiting our day unit.  Again, don’t worry if this happens, it just gives you and us a better understanding of what is going on.

When we have all the information we need, we will talk to you about it and decide together whether we can help. If we decide CAMHS is the best service to help you, we will work together to start your treatment or therapy.

Visitor restrictions

To protect you and our staff during the current outbreak of Covid-19 we’ve put in place significant restrictions on hospital visitors.

Full details of these can be found on our website.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and helping us stop the spread of Covid-19.
