Pregnancy Service

Our specially trained advisors can help you stop smoking during this very important time. An advisor can visit you in your own home at a time to suit you.

The midwifery service offers help and advice to all pregnant women who are found to be smokers, along with a carbon monoxide test and a referral to the Stop Smoking Pregnancy Service. All pregnant smokers are offered advice and support throughout their pregnancy. An initial refusal of a referral to our service does not stop patients from accessing the service later in their pregnancy.

After referral, all women are contacted by the team and offered every opportunity to access the service and speak to an experienced smoking in pregnancy advisor. This can be at a local health centre or a home visit.
