Congratulations to the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust’s Robert Hull who has been shortlisted for the Clinical Studies / Research Practitioner of the Year Award in the Greater Manchester Clinical Research Awards.
Nominating him, Christine Dawe, Research Nurse at the Royal Bolton Hospital, said the whole research team hold Robert in high esteem. She added: “All the medical staff, including the senior consultants, hold Robert in very high regard due to his excellent organisational and communication skills. Robert can also speak to any grade of staff, anywhere in the hospital with a calm, confident manner and makes sure he explains everything down to the most minor detail. Above all though, Robert is a fantastic patient advocate, confidentiality is always paramount in every recruitment.”
Robert, 22, from Bolton, started firstly as a Clinical Trials Assistant and for the last year as a Research Practitioner. He has worked on urology, colorectal and haematology cancer studies looking at genetics and new treatments and also works on studies looking at treatments for debilitating bowel disorders , hand fractures, cardiac chest pain and paediatric tooth decay.
The research team celebrated Kat Rhead winning the very same award at last year’s event, and so are hoping that the title will be kept at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust for a second year running!
The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 17th November at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel, Manchester.
