Catering staff at the Royal Bolton Hospital are making sure inpatients won’t miss out on Christmas cheer this year.
On Christmas Day they will be serving up a truly festive feast for lunch.
There will be a choice of fruit juice or Florida cocktail for starters, followed by traditional roast turkey, sage and onion stuffing, roast and creamed potatoes, carrots, sprouts and gravy. There are also choices of salmon and broccoli bake or mushroom, leek and pepper roast.
Patients can then choose from Christmas pudding with brandy flavoured sauce, traditional fruit trifle, ice cream or rice pudding with nutmeg, followed by an after dinner mint
Bev Sharrocks, Hotel Services Manager for IFMBolton, which oversees catering for the Royal Bolton Hospital, said she expects the meals will be served to at least 600 patients.
She said: “We want to make Christmas in hospital as pleasant as possible for these patients .”
