NICU Christmas party was a great success

A Christmas party organised by nurses from our neonatal unit was attended by dozens of families last weekend. Jodie Pedan, Jennifer Burrell-Jones and Jessica Clarke organised the event at Lostock Parish Centre, Bolton, and were overwhelmed by how many families from NICU past and present came along to celebrate with them. One family even travelled over from Yorkshire for the event.

There was a host of activities for the little ones; including soft play, a bouncy castle, face painting, Christmas crafts and much more. The unit’s housekeeper Kenneth made a brilliant Father Christmas, and another two members of staff dressed as elves.

Cath Bainbridge, Matron on the Neonatal Unit said:

“I am so pleased that the Christmas party was a success.  I know how hard the staff worked to achieve this, and I feel very proud to be a leading a team of staff who go the extra mile for the infants and families in our care”.

The event raised over £2,000 for the unit. The team are definitely planning to have an even bigger event next year. Thank you to everyone who supported it.
