Dr Walker qualified in London in 1987. She has worked in a number of different hospitals in the North West and also worked in Auckland, New Zealand for two years and for a short period in Eritrea, Africa. She joined Bolton NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Paediatrician in 1997.

Dr Walker has also worked as a volunteer in Malawi, Africa, in the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Blantyre, treating children and teaching doctors. Since autumn 2012, she has been involved as a volunteer in a Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health project supporting paediatric training in East Africa and is linked with Muranga District Hospital in Kenya.

Community paediatricians are specialist children’s doctors who see children mostly in community based settings, out of hospital. We aim to provide high quality, appropriate assessment, treatment and care for children and young people and their families in Bolton.
