Please could you send us any older policies including funding criteria for treatment of base of thumb arthritis from 1998 to present day.

If not included in the policy what criteria is used to categorise severity of base of thumb arthritis into mild moderate or severe.

 

 

Response:

Please could you send us your current policies for treatment (surgical and/or injection) of base of thumb arthritis including any funding criteria. Rheumatology does not have any written policy for base of thumb injections and funding.
Please could you send us any older policies including funding criteria for treatment of base of thumb arthritis from 1998 to present day. Rheumatology have never had written policy for base of thumb treatment previously.
If not included in the policy what criteria is used to categorise severity of base of thumb arthritis into mild moderate or severe.

 

Base of thumb arthritis assessment in Rheumatology is done on a case by case basis. Treatment is recommended by the clinician to the individual patient depending on the overall impression, including any radiological information for severity if needed / available.
