What happens at age 18?

Young people can be seen in CAMHS until their 18th birthday.  After this they can get the help that they need from adult mental health services.

If your child is being seen in CAMHS when they are 17, their CAMHS worker will help you to plan the move to adult services, as well as supporting them with their current difficulties.

If it is felt that adult mental health services are not needed, your CAMHS worker will help you to find out what other local services can support your child. They may also help you to contact these other services.

Visitor restrictions

To protect you and our staff during the current outbreak of Covid-19 we’ve put in place significant restrictions on hospital visitors.

Full details of these can be found on our website.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and helping us stop the spread of Covid-19.
