Bolton NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of gynaecological services for planned and emergency assessment, diagnostics and treatment including surgery when needed. This is provided by an expert team including doctors, nurses, therapists, radiologists, pathologists and oncologists in our dedicated women’s healthcare outpatient unit or as an inpatient on our women only ward.
We are a centre of excellence with a team of 12 highly skilled and experienced consultants providing specialised care and research for the following: oncology, female urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, urogynaecology, outpatient hysteroscopy and fertility. The centre of excellence has a new central delivery suite, special care, neonatal intensive care and children’s unit. It has a reputation as a good teaching and training organisation with an education centre, library and outstanding programme for staff learning and development. We also provide a urodynamics clinic that assesses how the bladder and urethra are performing their job of storing and releasing urine. Urodynamic tests can help explain symptoms such as incontinence and frequent urination. GPs can access this clinic quickly and easily via Choose and Book.
Gynaecology also received a CQC overall rating of Good in the report published 10th August 2016.
