Our women’s health care gynaecology department provides a first class ‘onestop’ service for ladies with symptoms of postmenopausal bleeding.
We ensure that patients are provided with the highest quality cancer care and those targets and standards are met in line with national priorities and timescales. We provide support, help and advice, ensuring that patients and carers are involved in the planning of all cancer services.
All patients with post-menopausal bleeding who are referred to Gynaecology are seen within seven days and assessed by a dedicated specialist team which is made up of three specialist gynaecology nurses and a team of consultants.
The assessment consists of a one stop approach – an immediate ultrasound scan and diagnostic hysteroscopy, if required.
We are committed to informing the referrer of the outcome within 48 hours of the consultation, to ensure that all are involved in the planning are informed and that patients are either discharged timely or diagnosed early and receive necessary treatment, improving outcomes and quality of life.
