The Trust cancer services cover a wide range of teams and departments including gynaecology. We ensure that patients are provided with the highest quality cancer care and those targets and standards are met in line with national priorities and timescales. We provide support, help and advice, ensuring that patients and carers are involved in the planning of all cancer services.
All patients with suspected cancer referred to gynaecology are seen within two weeks by a dedicated specialist team which is made up of three consultants and a clinical nurse specialist. The team has been established for over 15 years and have streamlined, robust pathways to ensure patients are diagnosed early and receive necessary treatment, improving outcomes and quality of life.
Bolton NHS Foundation Trust has been rated above national average for cancer care. The National Cancer Patient Experience Survey scored us more highly than the national average in the majority of categories. Patients were asked questions around diagnostic tests, treatment options, hospital care and support, along with their general experience and overall care.
