Bolton’s Rainbow Clinic provides specialist maternity support for women and their families during pregnancy following a stillbirth (after 24 weeks) or neonatal death.
Around half of all stillbirths are unexplained, leaving parents feeling powerless in a following pregnancy to stop it happening again. We care for families from the time of their first postnatal appointment to ensure they are given the best possible care, and to help and support them through their following pregnancies.
Parents often have to endure the distress of having to explain their previous loss to health professionals over and over again. The team at the Rainbow Clinic will provide continuity of care for these families to prevent this from happening.
Health professionals from across Bolton’s maternity services will join together to ensure the best of antenatal and postnatal care; including a consultant obstetrician, a Rainbow midwife, a midwife ultra-sonographer and a maternity support worker.

Referrals will be made by your midwife or healthcare professional.
