Awards and achievements

Our work has been recognised and documented in government white papers and our service models discussed as exemplar practices at Whitehall. A number of awards have been received by the service including the following:

  • Awarded the Chang Chen prize (1st prize) out of 40 podium publications for a paper titled ‘Caslcaneal fractures to fix or not to fix, our piece in the jigsaw’ at the British Orthopaedics Foot and Ankle Society in Belfast November 2013
  • Shortlisted for the Patient Safety Awards 2012 for an alert system to identify metastatic spinal cord compression (MSCC) in the diagnoses category
  • Diamond Care Commendation 2011 for an alert system to identify metastatic spinal cord compression (MSCC)
  • Transforming Community Service Award 2009 which included a £16,000 grant from the Department of Health
  • Diamond Care Award 2009 for Experience Base Design
  • Shortlisted for Diamond Care Awards 2009 Clinical Presentation Mapping
  • Diamond Care Awards 2009 for Patient Experience
  • Finalist in HSJ Awards 2009 for Patient Experience
  • Health and Social Care Awards regional finalist 2009 for Patient Experience
  • International Forum on Quality and Safety in Health Care Poster winners 2009 for Comprehensive Optimisation of Patients needing Surgery (COPS) in Surgical Care section/ Trauma Stabilisation Unit in Orthopaedic section
  • HSJ Awards 2007 for Accessibility and Responsiveness.
