The epilepsy clinic is held at Breightmet Health Centre, Bolton. We provide prompt, up to date and consistent care for children and young people with epilepsy in Bolton, and their families. Our rapid response diagnostic service aims to see new patients within two to four weeks of referral and at your first appointment we will arrange for any tests to be done that may be needed to help diagnosis. Once a diagnosis has been made patients are seen on a regular basis until they either grow out of the condition and are able to be discharged off medications, or are transferred to the adult service.
Clinic appointments can be held in a variety of school and community locations and our epilepsy specialist nurse provides advice, education and support at home and at school. We also have strong links with child neurology, psychology and the education service.
Members of staff working as part of the epilepsy team are:
Dr Dan Hindley, Consultant Paediatrician
Dr Becky Cowling, Associate Specialist in Paediatrics
Specialist Registrar in Paediatrics
Helen Jameson, Epilepsy Specialist Nurse (part-time)
Claire Abbott, Epilepsy Specialist Nurse (part-time)
Louise Dakin, Secretary
