The IV Therapy team provide domiciliary visits as well as clinic services across Bolton.
The IV team has played a vital role in delivering blood transfusions and home subcutaneous chemotherapy, providing thousands of safe treatments directly to patients’ homes.
This service, is highly valued by patients and their families and stands out as one of the few, if not the only, home transfusion services of its kind nationally.
Domiciliary services
We provide a range of domiciliary services which include intravenous antibiotics at home (including the administration of Elastomeric devices when approved by Microbiology), blood monitoring for IV Antibiotic and Haematology patients, blood/platelet transfusions, sub-cutaneous chemotherapy and Zoledronic acid.
Criteria for intravenous antibiotics at home:
Please note, that for hospital patients, the referral form is on EPR. This must be discussed with the IV Team prior to being completed, and updates must be provided to the team regarding discharge date.
