How to access the service
You are usually referred by your dentist, GP or another healthcare professional if you need specialist assessment or treatment. Urgent referrals, such as rapidly worsening infections, are prioritised.
Treatments and procedures
We provide a range of treatments, including:
- Surgical removal of difficult or impacted teeth
- Treatment of infections and painful oral conditions
- Management of jaw joint problems
- Biopsies of oral lesions
- Support and treatment for facial pain
If surgery is needed, we will explain the risks, benefits and what to expect on the day. Many procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic, with some performed as day‑case surgery.
