About us

We provide health and wellbeing services to the people of Bolton, delivering care in a range of community venues, in people’s own homes and at Royal Bolton Hospital.

We are one of the North West’s busiest acute and community NHS foundation trusts, serving people across Bolton, other parts of Greater Manchester and the surrounding area.

Our organisation has a ‘Good’ overall rating from the CQC and was last inspected in May 2023.

Royal Bolton Hospital is a major hub in Greater Manchester for women’s and children’s services, including a level 3 neonatal intensive care unit. We are the second busiest ambulance-receiving site in Greater Manchester.

We have around 6,300 substantive staff, working across 20 sites in Bolton and providing clinics for various specialties in neighbouring areas, including sexual health services and breast screening.
