Visiting someone in hospital

We’re pleased to offer open visiting so people can spend time with their loved ones while they are staying at Royal Bolton Hospital.

Although there are no strict restrictions, we encourage visits between 10am and 7pm to support patient rest and recovery. If you need to visit outside these times, please speak to the ward team.

We are proud to support John’s Campaign, which means relatives and carers of people living with dementia are welcome to stay whenever they wish. Having someone familiar close by can provide comfort, reduce anxiety and help maintain continuity of care.

To help keep everyone safe, please do not visit if you are unwell, especially if you have symptoms of COVID 19, flu, diarrhoea and vomiting, or other infectious illnesses.

For specific visiting arrangements in certain areas, please see the relevant pages:

  • Maternity
  • Acute Paediatrics

If you’re worried about someone in hospital, you can contact us 24 hours a day on 01204 390812.

Staff on this line can tell you which ward a patient is on and transfer your call. If several people want updates, it is helpful for one person to call on behalf of the family.
