Dr Rauf Munshi

Dr Munshi joined the Trust in 2014 as a Consultant in Acute Medicine, his first role after completing his specialist training in the North West.

Since then, Rauf has held several positions within the trust, including Divisional Medical Director for Medicine and Community Services.

Before becoming Medical Director in January 2026, he served as Associate Medical Director for Clinical Governance and System Integration, playing a pivotal role in driving service transformation and quality improvement.

He is passionate about improving clinical outcomes and reducing health inequalities for the people of Bolton, his hometown.

Alongside his Executive role, he continues to work clinically.
