Steve completed his surgical training within the North West Deanery, including upper limb fellowships at Wrightington Hospital and in the United States.
He joined the Trust in 1993 with a remit to establish an upper limb surgical service. This service has now developed and is delivered by a team of five upper limb surgeons supported by a strong multidisciplinary team.
Alongside his clinical work, Steve has held a number of senior medical leadership roles, including Clinical Lead, Divisional Medical Director and Executive Medical Director.

Mr Hodgson has published several papers on scaphoid fractures, wrist problems and elbow replacement.
