Join us as a member

Being a member of Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways to influence the future of health services in our borough.

Membership is free, open to everyone, and gives you a genuine say in how we develop and improve care for our community.

Why become a member?

Membership is all about your voice. As a member, you can share your views on what matters to you, highlight the challenges faced in your community, and influence how services evolve. Your feedback is reflected through the Council of Governors, who represent your interests and help guide the Trust’s direction.

You can be as involved as you want, whether that’s simply receiving updates, taking part in surveys, or engaging more closely in discussions about our future plans. There’s no expectation to volunteer, fundraise or give up your time (unless you want to). Membership is about staying informed and being heard.

Shape the future of local healthcare

As a Foundation Trust, we’re run locally, which means we have more flexibility to develop services that meet the specific needs of Bolton’s population. We work closely with our communities to understand what matters most and how we can continue improving quality, experience and access to care. Becoming a member helps ensure we stay connected to the people we serve.

Membership also gives you the opportunity to attend our Annual Members’ Meeting, where you can hear about our progress, ask questions, and learn about upcoming plans. It’s another way we keep our work transparent, accountable and rooted in our community’s needs.

Who can join?

Anyone with an interest in the health and wellbeing of our population can become a member. This includes patients, carers, local residents or people who live further afield but care about the work we do.

Becoming a member is easy

Membership is completely free, and signing up only takes a couple of minutes. Simply complete the online form to get started.
