From Monday 29 June 2026, we will be opening a 16-bed nursing Intermediate Care ward on F6 at Royal Bolton Hospital.
16 nursing beds will be available on F6 with a further 8 residential beds being opened at Laburnum Lodge, managed by Bolton Council, to maintain a base of Intermediate Care beds in Bolton following the closure of Dove House on 19 June 2026.
This is a temporary arrangement whilst we prepare to open a 24-bed nursing Intermediate Care Unit in N Block this September.
The first floor of N block is being renovated to create the unit, which will provide short-term care to help people recover and regain their independence before returning to the place they call home.
All services will continue to bring together health and social care staff to support people to maximise their independence and support recovery.
For visiting on F6, visiting times are as follows:
- 10:30am to 12pm
- 2pm to 4pm
- 6pm to 7pm
