Dr McMahon graduated from the University of St Andrews with a BSc in 1996 and then Medicine MBChb from Manchester in 1999. She completed her paediatric training in the North West as well as spending a year in Australia doing Emergency Medicine.
Dr McMahon subspecialised in paediatric neurodisability and spent three years training with the community team in Bolton and Manchester. She was a consultant in Wigan for nine years before joining the team in Bolton in October 2019 in the new integrated community paediatric hub in Breighmet.

Special interests and research
Dr McMahon has interest in paediatric neurodisability, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, epilepsy, safeguarding and Greater Manchester joint agency response to child death.
