Dr Malik trained at Imperial College Medical School and graduated with distinction in 2011. He subsequently completed his post-graduate training in the North West Deanery and was appointed to a substantive consultant post at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in 2023. Dr Malik is a consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia.
Dr Malik delivers both general and regional anaesthesia for procedures in Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Gynaecology, ENT, Paediatrics and Urology. His other professional interests are in Focussed Echocardiography, Medical Education, Paediatric and Adult Life Support teaching and Patient Safety.
Dr Malik is the Transfer Lead and Mortality Lead for the Critical Care Unit at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. He also sits on the Learning from Deaths Committee for the trust. Dr Malik also sits on the Greater Manchester Critical Care Network RiCON ‘Critical Care Transfer’ and ‘Morbidity & Mortality’ groups.
