Safe staffing

Safe staffing

All NHS Trusts are required to publish information about the number of nurses and support workers per shift, together with the percentage of shifts meeting safe staffing guidelines.

Following publication of the Francis Report, hospitals in England are required to publish data on staffing levels for inpatient services. This means measuring how many hours of care we delivered against how many were planned, as a percentage.

These fill-rate figures are aligned with another metric called; “Care Hours per Patient Day” (or CHPPD). This measures the number of hours of care each patient received, on average, on each ward.

Each month the data will be uploaded here to demonstrate how we are performing.
