Our services face extra pressure during the colder months. Seasonal illnesses like flu and respiratory infections increase demand, and hospitals often experience delays in discharging patients, making beds harder to free up.
We know these challenges well and have tried-and-tested plans in place to keep services running smoothly. Our dedicated staff have been preparing for weeks to ensure patients receive safe, timely care throughout what is expected to be a difficult winter period.

Flu vaccination is safe and effective. It’s offered every year through the NHS to help protect children and people at risk of getting seriously ill from flu.
The best time to have your flu vaccine is in the autumn or early winter before flu starts spreading. But you can get your vaccine later.
