What are your experiences of Bolton’s Emergency Department?

  • People are being invited to share their experiences of Bolton’s Emergency Department
  • New ‘Emergency Department Patient Forum’ will be hosted at Royal Bolton Hospital on Thursday 25 July 2024
  • First forum will focus on corridor care to understand what can improve

People are being invited to share their firsthand experiences of receiving care at Royal Bolton Hospital’s Emergency Department.

A series of brand new ‘Emergency Department Patient Forums’ will provide a space for people to talk about what their care, or care of a loved one, was like and to identify what worked well and what could be improved.

The forums will aim find new ways of working so that doctors and nurses can provide the best possible care and to learn from the experiences of patients.

The first session will take place at 10am on Thursday 25 July 2024 in the Seminar Room at Royal Bolton Hospital’s Emergency Department, focusing on care provided in the corridor.

Dr. Francis Andrews, Medical Director and Consultant in the Emergency Department at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said:

We provide urgent care for more than 130,000 people every single year and know that each person will have an experience that is unique to them.

“Our urgent care services have never been busier, with some patients receiving care on our corridor, and we know the care we provide could be better.

“Patient feedback is really important as we look to improve our services. For our first forum in July, we want to hear from anyone who has received care on our corridor, or whose loved ones have.

“We’re looking forward to meeting as many people as possible so that we can drive positive change and make sure we’re doing the very best for Bolton.
