People in Bolton are being invited to say a heartfelt thank you by nominating outstanding health and care workers and Our Bolton NHS Charity champions for the FABB Awards 2025.

The awards recognise the dedication, compassion and commitment of NHS staff and health and care workers, and for the first time will be celebrating those who have made a difference for Our Bolton NHS Charity.

Organised every year to celebrate those who go above and beyond for others, the FABB Awards are now accepting nominations for individuals who have made a real difference in the lives of patients, families, and the local community.

In 2025, people can submit nomination’s in the People’s Choice award and Charity Supporter of the Year award.

Whether it’s a nurse who provided outstanding care, a healthcare worker who showed unwavering kindness, or a volunteer or fundraiser who raised vital funds for Our Bolton NHS Charity, the FABB Awards are a chance for people to give them the recognition they deserve.

James Mawrey, Chief People Officer and Deputy Chief Executive at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said:

This is a fantastic opportunity for people in Bolton to show their appreciation for the incredible work being done every day across our NHS and our town’s health and care services.

“We also want to shine a light on the inspiring efforts of those who have raised money to support local health services through Our Bolton NHS Charity, which is making a lasting and meaningful difference.

“Even when our services are under a lot of pressure, our staff continue to deliver high quality care when we’re most in need of help and support.

“If someone has helped you through a difficult time, made you smile when you needed it most, or inspired you with their fundraising efforts, this is your chance to say thank you.

Nominations are open until Friday 11 July 2025. Anyone can submit a nomination by visiting the FABB Awards 2025 nomination page.

Winners will be announced at a special celebration at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Friday 10 October 2025.

Charity Supporter of the Year

Our Bolton NHS Charity is the official charity of Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, dedicated to improving the lives of patients, service-users, and their families, whether in Royal Bolton Hospital or across our local communities. Through the generosity of our supporters, we are able to fund initiatives that truly make a difference – whether it’s through small acts of kindness or significant contributions to medical equipment, training, or patient care.

This prestigious award celebrates those who have shown exceptional commitment to supporting our charity, whether through personal dedication, fundraising efforts, or advocacy. It’s an opportunity to recognise individuals who have not only supported our cause but have also gone above and beyond to make a lasting impact on the lives of others.

We’re looking for nominees who demonstrate:

• • Long-term commitment: Individuals who have shown sustained dedication to our cause, whether through regular support or continuous advocacy for our mission.
  • Impactful fundraising: People whose fundraising efforts have raised significant awareness or resources for critical causes, benefiting the charity and our local community.
  • Raising awareness: Nominees who have actively promoted the charity’s mission, spreading our message and inspiring others to get involved or take action.

People’s Choice

This award is an opportunity for patients, relatives, and carers to recognise the individual or team who has made a lasting impact on their lives.

The nominee should have:

• Made a lasting difference: Significantly impacted the life of a patient or family member.
• Provided comfort in difficult times: Helped patients and families through challenging moments with compassion and care.
• Delivered exceptional care: Demonstrated extraordinary care that went above and beyond expectations.
