We are thrilled to celebrate our achievements at the Greater Manchester Health and Care Champion Awards last night, 10th July 2025.

A massive well done to the IV Therapy Team, winning the Green Initiative of the Year Award.

• Removed over 2,678 plastic bottles, 4,172 syringes, 2,678 giving sets, 4,172 bags, 4,172 aprons, and 8,344 gloves.
• Eliminated more than 10,000 miles of travel, saving around 3 tonnes of CO₂.
• By substituting multiple nurse visits with a single daily check-in, they’ve championed patient care, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.

Congratulations goes to Tyrone Roberts, Chief Nursing Officer, winner of the Wellbeing Champion Award.

Tyrone has gone above and beyond to boost staff wellbeing. As a qualified fitness instructor and personal trainer, he launched and personally led a free fitness and nutrition programme tailored for colleagues working all shift patterns.

Over 80 staff members have benefited, enjoying improved health, camaraderie, and morale. His dedication exemplifies true leadership in staff wellbeing.

Sabana Bhikha was recognised for her strong passion for wellbeing.

We can all be proud of Sabana Bhikha, our Practice Educator and Neonatal Nurse was shortlisted for her passion for wellbeing, and ensuring everyone’s mental health is prioritised.

Fiona Noden, Chief Executive at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust said:

“We were thrilled to have had three entries in the GM Health and Care Champion Awards 2025, including two in the same category. It was wonderful to see our fantastic colleagues get recognised for their hard work.
