Professional background

Carolyn Williams studied Biochemistry at the University of Sheffield as an undergraduate and then completed an MSc in Clinical Biochemistry at Manchester University in 2002. Carolyn obtained her FRCPath qualification in 2012.

Mrs Williams trained and worked at University Hospital of South Manchester, Salford Royal Hospital and worked as higher specialist trainee at Central Manchester Foundation Trust.

Carolyn came to work at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in 2005 and is a member of the Royal College of Pathologists.

Special interests and research

Special interests: Carolyn’s special interest is foetal anomaly screening for chromosomal abnormalities, for which Bolton is a multi-regional screening centre and Carolyn has a national role as a laboratory advisor to the screening programme.
