Dr McViety obtained a BSc (Medical Science) at St Andrews in 1998 and a MB ChB from Manchester in 2001.
He has had SHO and Registrar training posts within the North West Deanery and spent a year during his registrar training working within Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine, including with the NWTS Paediatric Transport Service.
He came to Bolton for his final SpR post in August 2011 and was appointed as a consultant in November 2011.
Dr McViety has special interests in acute paediatrics and care of the critically unwell child.
