Nominate your Bolton NHS health heroes

People in Bolton are being invited to nominate their local NHS heroes across the health and care system who have gone above and beyond to help others the past twelve months.

Their hard-work and dedication will be recognised at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust’s annual FABB Awards.

The ‘People’s Choice’ Award is open to patients, relatives and carers who want to recognise a team or individual who has made a difference to their lives.

Patients often come into contact with a number of health professionals during their care but this award highlights the people who our patients and relatives simply will not forget because of the difference they made to them.

Fiona Noden, Chief Executive at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said:

Our staff, both in the hospital and out in the community, fill me with pride by going to extraordinary lengths every single day to provide exceptional care for our patients.

“After a challenging few years for the NHS, it has never felt more important to praise and celebrate those who have such a positive impact on people’s lives.

“The FABB Awards are a special way of recognising those achievements, and I look forward to reading how our health heroes continue to inspire others and make difference.

The Trust often receives praise from patients and families who reach out to staff to pay thanks to the excellent care and kindness they received.

In April this year, Amy Overend was rushed to hospital with a condition called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, which can cause her to go into life-threatening allergic reactions.

Amy has praised and thanked the staff who were on duty in the Emergency Department that night, and will be nominating the team:

Every single contact I had from the doctors and nurses to the healthcare assistants, all of them were kind, patient, compassionate and were genuinely there to make me feel better.

“All of the staff I met went above and beyond and their team work, even in difficult moments, was incredible.

“They are all the reason I got to go home the next day, and continue to be a mum, fiancé, daughter, sister and friend.
