Local school children have been hard at work submitting their designs for an NHS competition in Bolton.

Bolton’s primary school children are invited to design a special piece of to say ‘thank you’ to the NHS as the organisation celebrates 75 years.

More than 30 designs have already been submitted ahead of the deadline on 29 September 2023.

Some of the entrants so far have:

  • been inspired by Andy Warhol
  • painted Royal Bolton Hospital
  • drawn long-serving Bolton NHS Foundation Trust staff

Sharon White, Director of Strategy, Digital and Transformation at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said:

The creativity and artistic skills of Bolton’s school children is absolutely brilliant.

“I am loving the entries so far, especially how thoughtful the children have been to create something really special that showcases just how brilliant all of our NHS staff are.

“The winning design will sit proudly in our hospital for many years to come and I cannot wait to see what other school children come up with ahead of the deadline!

The artwork could be a ‘thank you’ drawing or painting that captures the historic milestone and the vital contribution of Bolton NHS staff who provide care and support to millions of people every year.

The winning design will be selected later this year and placed on display at Royal Bolton Hospital.

All entries should be submitted to communications@boltonft.nhs.uk and include the name, age and school of the artist.

Entries can also be sent via post to:
