Dr Basu joined Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in 2009.
Dr Basu gained his specialist training in Diabetes & Endocrinology in the North-west. He has worked at Salford Royal, Manchester Foundation Trust, and Christies Hospital before joining Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.
He is the Visiting Professor in Medicine at the Medical School of Greater Manchester University.
He has been the past Royal College Tutor and Specialty Tutor in Medicine.
He has been the past Training Program Director in Diabetes & Endocrinology in the North-west Deanery.
He is a Royal College Examiner for PACES exam.
