Dr Basu joined Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in 2009.
Dr Basu is the Training Programme Director for Diabetes and Endocrinology for the North West, Health Education England. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh and London; a member of Diabetes UK and a member of the British Society for Endocrinology.
He is the Royal College Tutor and the Specialty Tutor in Medicine and is also a Royal College Examiner.
Dr Basu is the Honorary Senior Lecturer and the Medical Lead for the Physician Associate MSc Programme at the University of Bolton.
