Maternity services during strike action

Our maternity services are running as normal throughout the planned industrial action, which will affect staff at North West Ambulance Service.

The availability of ambulances from midnight Tuesday 20 December, for 24 hours, will be limited to life-threatening emergencies only.

Please have a plan in place of how you will attend the hospital in case of an emergency with your pregnancy.

Reliance on an ambulance may result in a delay in you getting to hospital and receiving the care you need.

If you have concerns, or think that you are in labour, please do not hesitate to contact Maternity Triage on 01204 390612.

Our midwives will be happy to help and advise you.

If you are planning a homebirth and are due in the coming days, your community midwife will have contacted you directly about how the planned action may affect your plan of care.
