Angela Duckworth, Macmillan Advanced Nurse Practitioner, BSC Hons, PGCert, MSc Advanced Practice
Angela qualified as a registered nurse in 1994 at Leeds Metropolitan University and St James Hospital. She previously worked as a haematology and chemotherapy nurse and later as a district nurse team leader and community practice teacher.
Angela joined the Breast Unit team in December 2011 and works independently managing patients within the clinics. Practicing at an advanced level, Angela clinically examines and assesses the needs of patients with both benign and malignant breast conditions. Angela is also the responsible clinician for the Family History service within the Breast Unit, assessing individual risk of breast cancer of all patients referred and arranging the appropriate surveillance and intervention required.
Rick Boton, Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner, BSc
Rick qualified as a registered nurse in 2010 at the University of Manchester and the Christie Hospital. He previously worked as a chemotherapy nurse, research nurse and more recently within acute oncology as specialist nurse for CUP (cancer of unknown primary).
Rick is currently undertaking the MSc in Advanced Practice which he will complete in September 2022. During this time Rick will also be developing his knowledge and competencies within a breast specialty. His time will be divided between the university and clinical practice during this period and will have the support of the team whilst progressing within his new role.
Rick will be supporting the surgical team and the Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the delivery of breast services and the ongoing development of how services are delivered.
